Here’s a fun idea if you want to bring a little Halloween treat to a friend, or party favors or whatever! I even came up with a saying to go along with it!
“Trick or Treat! You are sweet!
Here is something good to eat!
Love and well wishes I send,
Thank you for being my friend!”
Yeah, I like cheesy sayings and cute Holiday fun! So here’s a recipe for these quick and CUTE little jack-o-lantern treats! (They’re mostly just rice krispie treats but with added PEANUT BUTTER and a cute shape 😊)
Crispy Rice Jack-o-Lantern Treats
20 oz marshmallows (2 10 oz bags)
6 Tbsp butter
1 cup peanut butter
Orange food coloring
10-11 cups crispy rice cereal
Chocolate chips
On the stove or in the microwave, melt together the marshmallow mixture. Stir it until it’s creamy and then mix in the orange food coloring. Gradually add the crispy rice cereal, about 10 or 11 cups, until it sticks to itself but isn’t too gooey for you to mold.
Flatten out the mixture onto some wax paper. Use a cookie cutter (or you could free-hand it) to make little pumpkin shapes. Add chocolate chips to make the face!
I put them in individual sandwich bags and folded paper over the top for little Halloween favors. They turned out cute and delicious!
Happy Halloween!!! 🎃
